Server logs and hosting
When this website is accessed, the hosting provider processes technically necessary data such as IP address, access time, requested file, referrer, and information about the browser and operating system used. This processing is required for the secure and stable operation of the website.
Setup finder emails and newsletter
Before showing your result, the setup finder asks for your email address and sends you a link to your result. This is the only thing the address is used for, unless you also tick the newsletter box. The legal basis is the performance of the service you requested (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Your answers are part of the link, not stored separately.
If you tick the newsletter box, you first get an email asking you to confirm (double opt-in). Only after confirming are you added to the newsletter list and receive occasional emails about new videos and gear. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time via the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to [email protected].
Emails are sent with Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, 55 rue d'Amsterdam, 75008 Paris, France), which processes your email address and delivery data on our behalf. More information:Brevo Privacy Policy.
To keep bots from sending these emails to strangers, the email step uses Cloudflare Turnstile. It runs a short check in your browser and usually shows nothing. YouTube embeds
The homepage shows preview images of YouTube videos, which are loaded from YouTube's image servers (i.ytimg.com). The YouTube player itself only loads after you click a video, using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Once the player loads or plays, personal data such as IP address, device information, and usage data may be processed by YouTube or Google.
